South Florida Credit Union Helps Raise $5,100 for Children's Cancer Support
Miramar, FL (PRWEB) July 2, 2008 -- Tropical Financial Credit Union, one of South Florida's largest credit unions (http://www.tropicalfcu.org/home/about.Pressreleases.pr_comedy_cures_results), announced they have raised $5,100 for children with cancer at Comedy Cures Live! - A Night At The Improv. The event took place on Thursday, May 15th at the Seminole Hard Rock in Ft. Lauderdale to offer support for children with cancer (http://www.tropicalfcu.org/home/about.Pressreleases.pr_comedy_cures_results). There were over 150 people in attendance that helped make this a special and memorable night.
During the event, the South Florida credit union offered raffle prizes which helped improve the amount raised support for children with cancer and included a Family Fun Pack of bowling, a $100 gift certificate to Staples, VIP Package from the Improv and a Car Care Package from Al Hendrickson Toyota.
"Thank you to everyone who came together and helped support children who are being affected by this horrible disease. The money raised is going to benefit some needy children with cancer," said Cina Tucci of Tropical Financial Credit Union. "Being able to go out and help the community is what we want our credit union to be about."
The Children's Cancer Caring Center is the only free pediatric oncology treatment and support center for children with cancer in the southeastern United States. The center covers treatment costs for eligible patients from infancy through age 20, or until treatments are completed.
